before russia said it was suspending the deal that allows ukraine to export millions of tons of grain through the black sea. russia claims international restrictions have hampered its own exports of food and fertilizer, and that it might consider resuming the safe-passage agreement only when its demands are met. experts say if ukrainian grain shipments are interrupted, it could lead to famine in some countries and rising food prices around the world. >> this is a deeply regrettable and, as i said, a dangerous decision that we urge mr. putin to reverse. >> reporter: david, the kremlin insists there is no connection between the suspension of the grain deal and the bridge attack. russian officials say repairs will take months. >> james longman in dnipro inside ukraine, james, thank you. >> david: back here in the u.s., tonight here the major shakeup for florida governor ron desantis and his staff and campaign team trailing donald trump by 30 points nationally,

5:47 pm
resources to divide the party. they're dividing the party. >> reporter: desantis says reports of his struggles are off-base, insisting things will change once voters get to know him. >> when we're able to make that case to voters directly, we get a tremendous response, and so we're excited for the debates in august. >> reporter: but here in south carolina, republican voters like j.r. fountain aren't so sure. do you think desantis can beat trump? >> i don't know. i think he should. he's smarter, he's younger, and he's more vibrant, but trump's base, trump's loyalty is deep. >> reporter: at this point there does not appear to be any other republicans that will be jumping in the race. both new hampshire governor chris sununu and virginia governor glenn youngkin have ruled out a run for the white house, though youngkin appears to have wiggle room there. and as for the desantis campaign this is not the early lead they were hoping for and looking for a major reset in the coming weeks.
